Happy World Down Syndrome Day!
Greetings to you all and welcome to the grand unveiling of the DS@DS blog. My goal is that, through this blog, families can encourage each other as we all journey through life with our families members with Down syndrome. The details and specifics of the blog can be found by clicking the “Submit a Post” link above. This is completely a personal endeavor of mine, and it is not directly related to my work at the Down Syndrome Center of Western PA or with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
I hope that you all will join with me and share your stories. Who knows? Your personal story could be the encouragement that a family somewhere around the world may need to hear at just that moment! So, give that special someone with Down syndrome in your life a big hug today, and let them know how much you appreciate them. After you do that, sit down and write your “past self” a letter explaining how much that person has meant to you! Send your story to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we may just add it to our blog! Also, add this blog site (https://dsaboutds.wordpress.com) to your internet links or use a blog reading app on your favorite device to follow along as more posts are added.
Happy writing and happy reading!
